Chinese Commerce Minister Bo Xilai Meets with President Arroyo

  On June 5, Hon. Bo Xilai Minister of the Chinese Ministry of Commerce 
paid a courtesy call on H.E. Gloria Macapagal Arroyo, President of the 
Republic of the Philippines at Manila Hotel. Both sides exchanged 
in-depth views on bilateral trade and economic relations as well as 
Philippines-China Economic Partnership Forum in a cordial and friendly
 atmosphere.
           
  President Arroyo said that China and the Philippines are now in
 a golden age of partnership. Political, economic and cultural relations
 between the two countries have developed quickly. She also hoped that 
this forum could greatly boost economic and trade relations between the 
two countries. 
       Minister Bo Xilai said that there were many trade and economic opportunities 
in the Philippines, and the forum could help layout the future development of bilateral
 co-operation. The Chinese side would try its best to promote bilateral economic and 
trade cooperation to a higher stage and reach a win-win result.
        Philippine House Speaker Jose De Venecia Jr. and H.E. Li Jinjun, Chinese 
Ambassador to the Philippines also joined the meeting.
