President Arroyo met with Chinese Secondary School Students from Sichuan Quake-hit Area

On January 16, 2009, the Philippines President Arroyo met with Chinese Secondary School Students from Sichuan Quake-hit Area in the Presidential palace. Accompanying the students were Hon. Deng Xijun, the charge d'affaires of Chinese Embassy in the Philippines, and Hon. Shi Gongqi, Special Envoy of President Arroyo.

Arroyo said that she certainly treasure the friendship between China and the Philippines. On behalf of the Philippine government and Filipino People, she welcome the Chinese delegation's arrive, and also pay a new year call for Chinese people.

Du kewei, the head of the delegation, expressed the heartfelt thanks to Philippine government's warm reception. He said, "This brief visit not only widen the children's horizon, but also embolden the difficulties and the confidence of rebuild homes. This visit builds up the relationship of the two peoples, especially the teenager between the two countries and increase connotations of the friendly relations and the cooperation between China and the Philippines."

In the Hero Hall of presidential palace, the President Arroyo has been presented to a Chinese Knot which symbolized "Everything goes well" by three Qiang ethnic minority students. The students also sang a song of "Grateful heart" for people to express their gratitude to the Philippines government and Filipino.
