Chinese High School Students from Sichuan Quake-hit Area Visited Bohol Province

A delegation of Chinese high school students from Sichuan earthquake-hit area paid a visit to Bohol, a central province of the Philippines from January 13 to 14, 2009. Accompanying them are Hon. Deng Xijun, the charge d'affaires of Chinese Embassy in the Philippines, Hon. Shi Gongqi, Special Envoy of President Arroyo, as well as officials form DFA and Press Department. Governor of Bohol province and President of League of Provinces of the Philippines, Erico B. Aumentado hosted a welcoming ceremony at airport for the small guests.
Residing in the Bohol Tropical Resort, these schoolmates got in their first touches with the vast sea and tropical fascinations. They also visited the prestigious Chocolate Hills and the ancient Loboc Church, fall in love with the enchanting Tarsiers, took a boat tour on Loboc river, and most importantly interacted with local juniors. The world-famous Children Choir presented a performance for their new friends. To express appreciation to the young hosts, the Chinese students also recited poems and dactylology program "Gratitude". Two of the delegation enjoyed their unforgettable birthday in Bohol, enjoying a delicious birthday cake prepared by Governor Aumentado.
Through visiting Bohol, the students got personal experience of Filipinos' sympathy and support towards Sichuan people hit by the Earthquake, as well as their kindness, friendship and passion. The strengthened interaction and enhanced friendship between young representatives will surely infuse new energy into the friendship between China and the Philippines.
