Amb. Li Jinjun Paid a Courtesy Call on Philippine Senate President Franklin Drilon

On 20 December, 2005, H.E. Ambassador Li Jinjun paid a courtesy call on Honorable Franklin Drilon, Senate President of the Philippines. Both sides had in-depth discussions on China-Philippine relations.

They spoke highly of the rapid development of bilateral relations in recent years and agreed that China Philippines relations were at the best since the establishment of diplomatic ties 30 years ago. They noted that political mutual trust had been enhanced significantly. They agreed that frequent parliamentary exchanges between the two countries in recent years had contributed a lot to bilateral relations. Both are particularly satisfied with the rapid development of trade and economic cooperation between the two countries. They identified tourism cooperation as one of the areas that had great potential for development in the future.

Amb. Li pledged to do his best to push bilateral ties to new heights. Senate President Drilon expressed his confidence that during Amb. Li's tenure of office, Philippines China relations would enjoy greater development.
