Chinese Songs and Dances Performed in Manila

On 8 June, 2005, "An Evening of Fil-Sino Friendship" –an evening show of songs and dances performed by China National Song & Dance Ensemble (CNSDE) --was held in Manila to commemorate the 30th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between the People's Republic of China and the Republic of the Philippines and celebrate the Fourth Filipino-Chinese Friendship Day. The gala night was jointly organized by Department of Foreign Affairs of the Philippines, Chinese Embassy, All-China Federation of Returned Chinese, Culture Center of the Philippines and Federation of Filipino-Chinese Associations.

Chinese Ambassador Wu Hongbo, Executive Secretary Eduardo Ermita, Foreign Secretary Alberto Romulo were among the 1800 guests. Before the show, they delivered speeches on China-Philippines relations, speaking highly of the tremendous progress made in bilateral ties over the past 30 years. They also pledged to further develop the friendly relations and cooperation between the two countries.

About 50 Chinese artists from CNSDE performed in the show. Their wonderful songs, charming dances and intoxicating music pieces were received by the audience with warm applauses.
