Chinese Embassy Presents the Chinese Film and Food Festival at DLSU

On the 31st of May 2016, the Embassy of the People's Republic of China celebrated China-Philippines Friendship day by co-hosting the opening ceremony of the Chinese Film and Food Festival with  De La Salle University, Manila.


Mr. Pan Feng, the Cultural Counsellor of the Chinese Embassy, gave his speech that celebrated the rich cultural similarities between China and the Philippines as well as the prospects of stronger bilateral ties between the two peoples in the future. Dean of University's College of Liberal Arts,Julio C. Teehankee gave his speech that encouraged students from De La Salle University to learn more about the Chinese culture and contribute to the sound development of  China-Philippines Friendship.


This week long Chinese Film and Food Festival provides a venue for the Filipinos, especially the students, to appreciate and recognize the culture of China. The festival celebrates the deepening friendship between China and the Philippines in different sectors, including educational, cultural and people to people exchanges.


The opening of the celebration exhibited different performances from Chinese and Filipino students. Then guests indulged in the movie, Little Big Soldier, which was shown at the University's Teresa Yuchengco Auditorium.

A banquet of Chinese delicacies from Viking's Buffet was followed after the movie which everyone enjoyed throughout the night.

The Chinese Embassy was also in partnership with Huawei to provide attendees with a photo booth to bring home memories from the grand celebration. Students from the Confucius Institute also joined in the fun as they presented  the Chinese culture through calligraphy and paper cutting.

The love for food and films unmistakably united the Philippine and Chinese culture together as guests were filled with smiles the whole celebration. The true essence of Chinese-Philippine friendship was truly manifested.
