On September 28, law enforcement agencies of China and the Philippines held a video conference to further tap ways to strengthen joint efforts to crack down drug-related crimes.  Officers of the Narcotics Control Bureau of Ministry of Public Security (MPS) of China and the Chinese Embassy in the Philippines, officers from Drug Enforcement Group of Philippine National Police (PNP) and Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) participated in the meeting.

The meeting was held to implement the consensus reached by Vice Minister Wang Xiaohong of MPS and Mr.Guillermo Lorenzo Tolentino Eleazar, Chief of the PNP during an earlier meeting held in September 2, 2021.

At the meeting, the Philippine side briefed on its anti-drug work, major cases recently cracked down and relevant request for its Chinese counterpart. The Chinese side briefed on the major achievements of its anti-drug work and responded to the concerns raised by the Philippine side. Meanwhile, participants had in-depth discussions on how to further strengthen cooperation in cracking down drug-related crimes.

Both sides agreed that anti-drug law enforcement authorities of the two countries should explore the establishment of a green channel for law enforcement cooperation, speed up intelligence and information exchange, strengthen case investigation coordination and cooperation, increase training assistance and support, so as to further enhance the effectiveness of mutual cooperation.
