On the night of August 5, two Chinese fishermen who were in distress due to bad weather at sea were rescued by Philippine fishermen off the Palawan coast. The Chinese fishermen were rushed to Bataraza District Hospital for medical treatment. Meanwhile, Philippine authorities immediately informed the Chinese Embassy of the case.
