Ambassador Huang Xilian Pay Tribute to The Monument of General Ye Fei

On July 31, Ambassador Huang Xilian visited the Memorial Park of General Ye Fei and paid tribute to the Monument of General Ye Fei. Quezon Province Governor Danilo E. Suarez, Congressman David "Jayjay" A. Suarez, Vice Governor Samuel Nantes, Tiaong municipality Mayor Ramon Abad Preza, and President Henry Lim Bon Liong of Federation of Filipino Chinese Chambers of Commerce & Industry, representatives from the Chinese community and Chinese Embassy joined the event.

                                                    

Ambassador Huang said that General Ye Fei is a well-known general and soldier of distinction, devoted his whole life to pursuing China's remarkable achievements in the political, economic, and military fields, dedicated to the founding of new China and the strengthening of China-Philippines relations, and has been hailed as the emblem of China-Philippines friendship.

                                                   

Ambassador Huang pointed out that this year marks the 100th anniversary of the founding of the Communist Party of China and the 94th anniversary of the founding of the People's Liberation Army of China. China will unswervingly follow the path of peaceful development and strive to uphold world peace and promote common development. China's armed forces in the new era advocate common, comprehensive, cooperative, and sustainable security, firmly fulfill their international responsibilities and obligations, and always stand at the forefront of maintaining world peace.

                                                   

Ambassador Huang emphasized that over the past five years, under the guidance of President Xi Jinping and President Duterte, the China-Philippines relations have been elevated to the Relationship of Comprehensive Strategic Cooperation, with intensified mutual trust and continued cooperation in various fields. As it turns out, a good-neighborly friendship genuinely meets the fundamental interests of the two countries and peoples. Despite all the challenges and adversaries ahead, China will continue to work closely with the Philippine side to fight against the COVID-19 pandemic, bring more tangible benefits to our two peoples and maintain peace and stability in the region.  

                                                   

Governor Danilo E. Suarez said that General Ye Fei's spirit of striving for China's national independence and people's liberation is worthy of our commemoration, and wished the two peoples could be continuously connected through shared goals and values. Congressman David "Jayjay" A. Suarez expressed congratulations on the 94th anniversary of the founding of the People's Liberation Army of China and thanked China for providing assistance to the Philippines in fighting against pandemic and hoped the two nations will further strengthen friendship and cooperation.
