What render the visit another highlight would be the talks to be held between H.E. Liu Qi and the Honorable Alfredo S. Lim, Mayor of the City of Manila, in the afternoon of 8 July. The friendly relations between Beijing and Manila have been deepened through exchanges in culture and other areas of common interests since they entered into sister city relationship in 2005.
To further enhance their sister city relationship, the two sides are set to sign Memorandum of Sister City Exchange Programs between Beijing and the City of Manila for the Year 2009-2010, covering a variety of exchange initiatives in such fields as education, culture, tourism and city management.
